Uniform
Swallow Grange is currently operating as an Alternative Provision. During this period, pupils may wear their own comfortable, practical clothing suitable for learning, outdoor activities and the weather.
Following registration as an Independent Special School, pupils will be expected to wear the Swallow Grange school uniform in line with our Uniform Policy. We recognise that many of our pupils have sensory needs and will make reasonable adjustments where appropriate to support individual needs.
Please refer to our Uniform Policy for further information.
School Day
Our school day runs from:
9:30am – 2:30pm
Swallow Grange operates during term time only.
As an Alternative Provision, pupils currently attend for a maximum of 15 hours per week, in line with commissioning arrangements and North East Lincolnshire Council guidance. Individual attendance patterns are agreed as part of each pupil's placement plan.
Meals
All pupils attending Swallow Grange are entitled to a free school meal.
Pupils may also bring a healthy packed lunch from home if they prefer. Fresh drinking water is available throughout the day, and we encourage healthy eating habits to support pupils' wellbeing and learning.
Behaviour
At Swallow Grange we promote positive behaviour through nurturing relationships, clear expectations and an understanding of each pupil's individual needs.
Our approach is trauma-informed and focuses on supporting pupils to develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive relationships. We work closely with families, schools and other professionals to ensure behaviour support is consistent and personalised.
